| TheIcon,
Maybe you should wait until you see an engineering counselor. They will be able to tell you whether your JC course is equivalent to an upper div course here. You can probably e-mail one of them now, so maybe you can take some summer courses (if you want). Then post back here about the unbelievable crap they told you. Then we can help you out.
*you can tell i'm not too fond of the counseling dept =/
I've seen a lot of weird crap happen to many transfers (including myself) in terms of getting credit for their engineering JC courses even though it was listed on the assist site. |

| Thanks for the tip.
I'll find a way to send an email ASAP. On a side note, if anyone can provide me with the email address to a counselor from the engineering department at UCLa, that would be very nice.
Boelter, that's amazing. If it's that tense at UCLA I wonder what it's like at CAL. Realistically, it's very difficult to go long hours studying without taking a break. The information just doesn't sink in as well, then fatigue sets in, eyes hurt, and hunger kicks in. Although, I must confess that it is very important for engineering students to do as much problem sets as possible. It's certainly helped me tremendously with doing just fine in my classes. |

| question How would you compare UC Davis and UCLA's Aerospace Engineering Programs? I would like to stay near home and go to UC Davis, but I don't want to if it means sacrificing a good engineering program and a considerably more marketable degree. Do you think UCD students still be competetive for internships, jobs, etc.? |

Companies such as Microsoft are sponsoring UCLA Engineering international graduates for H1-B work visas. However, you can pretty much rule out the aerospace industry and related contractors which require U.S. citizenship for new hires. |

| Thank you for the info on CS32 midterm, Grapesoda and MadeInChina.
I actually had Rohr for CS31 last quarter... I found the midterm to be impossible to finish, but I finished the final early. I should try to pace myself during the upcoming CS32 midterm. |

| PAT, come to ucla. i got accepted to ucd for aeronautical engineering, and ucla for aerospace engineering. i'm going to ucla, because it's a very good program and in a nice location.
I'm a transfer student from a semester CC. is it advisable i take 12 units in my first quarter at ucla. i was looking at the aero curriculum for ucla, and i'd like to know? is MAE102 statics and strenght of materials the same as a typical engineering statics class in a CC, will i have to request a course evalution? and also is this a good first quarter for as a junior transfer for FALL, PLEASE RATE DIFFICULTY (OUT OF 10)
MAE 182A math of engineering
Materials science and engineering 104
MAE 105 thermodynamics OR Computer science 31 |
