I assume you're talking about the Computer Engineering pathway for EE majors? It honestly doesn't matter too much what your major is if you have the skillsets that the company is looking for. And as of now, many companies are still hiring and seeking software engineers. That's why the major Computer Science/Computer Science & Engineering catches the eye of the recruiter. EECE may mislead the recruiter and make them think that you're looking for a hardware position, which isn't as sought after as software engineers.
@GrassBandit - oh please, like I was responsible for that infosession haha jk, but I didn't even go - did you? Heard the turnout was pretty good.

Any UPE members here? How come when ever I go for tutoring, people are always waiting around, while the tutor spends all his (or her) time on one person?
I have now stopped going.

@MIC, yeah I went for the free food.
I know Qualcomm will be hiring mostly software people. IBM was looking for mostly hardware people according to their rep. I kept hearing that software and EE were in high demand, but who knows.
btw, i used to go to TBP tutoring last year because they had some attractive girls there but i don't know about now.

Qualcomm has over 50 openings for CS positions, and they are only hiring hardware engineers who have at least a Masters.
@SSfren: I wasn't aware that UPE offered tutoring (I'm an ex-UPE officer and current UPE member). However, TBP does offer tutoring and there should be multiple CS tutors.

@MadeInChina - my bad, someone told me UPE tutoring, and I didn't bother to check who they were exactly.
But, anyway, the TBP - there was always one tutor - atleast for the upperdivs.

| What class were you looking for?
There may not be a lot of upperdivs tutors since all the tutors are candidates right now (a lot of 2nd/3rd years and some 4th years). Next quarter, the officers will tutor, and the majority of us are 3rd and 4th years (who have taken more upperdivs).

Engineering 98 isn't a required class at all as far I know unless the department changed something in recent years. Where did you hear about it being required?

applied for internships...how long does it take for the company to get back to you? is the time proportionate to your chances of being rejected?
(referring more to the companies that dont go through bruinview)

try to call and get a hold of a recruiter and let them know you're interested, otherwise you're just a resume in the stack.

hey guys just have a quick question: how hard is EE1, EE2, EE3, EE10, EE101, EE102, EE103 on a scale of 100?
also I'm planning on taking the following during winter:
CS32
EE1
EE3
EE102
PHYS 4BL
is this too much? should I consider dropping one of them?

EE 3 is a seminar type of class, no work required
EE 102 might be harder now that Balakrishinan is teaching it

| That's a pretty rough schedule. Phys 4bl takes a decent chunk of time for such a small lab class and cs32 is definitely going to take a decent amount of time as well.
actually, come to think about it, all of your classes will take a good amount of time (except for ee3). you might want to consider dropping ee102.
ps: william kaiser was my ee115a professor lol. interesting screen name.

is it true that the GRE isn't mandatory for admission to the M.S. in computer science program?

| This is only true for the ESAP program at UCLA. HSSEAS OASA | ESAP for HSSEAS Graduate Programs |
