I asked this question in a private message to someone, but I'll ask it here as well. If you put in a change of request, do you give up your original offer or can you hold on to it until you see what the second offer is? In other words, if you put in a request for a change, will you run the risk of getting something worse than what you already have been offered?

Giving you another offer and the choice to compare and contrast seems unfair to other housing recipients who are not pleased with their offer and would like to compare and contrast as well. In other words, if this was allowable, UCLA would be inundated with undergrads wanting a "better" choice, right?

Yes, there could be a flood of requests to see what else was out there. But I'm still not sure how the process works; I guess I'll call the housing office to find out.

I think if you aren't satisfied with the offer, you have to choose to leave your current room. I'd think you'd take was was leftover then because it looks like all the housing is already set up.

You have to accept your current offer before you submit the CAR.
