| That involves a bunch of finagling with the department. You'll have to go specifically to the department and argue for the units. Before you take any classes abroad, make sure that they'll translate into something useful back home.
Oh, and keep the syllabuses. Every last one of them. |

| I believe for the Poli Sci dept, you need to take the last 30 units at UCLA to retain residency, isn't that right UCLAri? At orientation, I remember the counselor telling us that UC-DC classes would count but not EAP. |

| Man,
I wish I would've known that UCLA does not place you in another major if you don't get picked for your first major. I'm guessing Business is hard to get into, so I think I know my decision. |

| business is in college of letters and science, no?
if so, DO NOT WORRY about what major you picked! you are NOT admitted based on your major!!!!
you're admitted based on your college |

| BruinsJEW,
What a bizarre concern, considering the fact that your possible major is not in any way a determinant of your admission... |

| No one is a guarantee...even if you've got a 5.0 and perfect SATs, there's no policy stating that you must be admitted. Have fun at Cal...it sounds like you wouldn't add much to UCLA anyway. |

| UCLAri, do you know around how many students graduate from this school with a polisci degree per year?
Just something I've always wondered since political science never struck me as too popular, but is actually more popular than I imagined.
And within the political science major, do you know the percentage/number of students in each concentration (comparative, IR, etc)? |

| Major is by no means a determinant of admission to UCLA as an undergrad at L&S. Furthermore, I give no guarantee that match means you will get in. It does not. Re-read what I had to say in my first post. Quote: |

| I think it's on the order of like 600 a year. Poli sci is quite popular at UCLA. Quote: |

| No, I do not. Sorry. I can, however, assume that IR, comparative, and American are more popular than methodology and theory... |

| UCLAri, i got accepted to UCLA as a International Development Studies major, but lately i have found International Business to be really my passion. Is it possible for me, a Fall 2007 freshman, to change majors before school begins? If so, what would be the procedure? Can i do so during Summer Orientation? thanks |

| I wanted to know whether it would be a better choice to go to UCLA (full ride) than go to UCB( w/ loans).
I got the Regents Scholarship at UCLA + Financial Aid to cover for 99% of my tuition costs.
At Berkeley I didnt apply for regents and this is my financial aid summary:
Fall 2007
FED.DIR.LOAN-SUB1 FL Loan $1,750.00
WORK STUDY ELIGIBILITY Work $1,307.00
FED SEOG GRANT FALL General $250.00
FEDERAL PELL GRANT-FALL General $2,130.00
FEDERAL PERKINS LOAN FL Loan $1,000.00
UNIVERSITY FEE GRT1 FL General $218.00
ESTIMATED CAL GRANT B Information $775.50
BERKELEY UG SCHOLARSHIP Information $4,643.50
Total Fall 2007 $12,074.00 $8,548.50 $0.00
Total Spring 2008 is exactly the same as Fall 2007.
Total for this award year $24,148.00 $17,097.00 $0.00
I also havent turned in one form (Sibling College Verification form). Would that have an affect on my financial aid if I turned in the form?
What do you guys think I should do? |
