Covel Dining Hall is technically in Sunset. If walking there from Sunset is difficult (unless you are handicapped), then you have a problem because it is flat terrain as opposed to flights ofstairs elsewhere.

hater_of_haters 08-23-2007 11:41 PM

lol, nah im not handicapped, at least not in that sense.
i was actually lamenting the fact that i dont get to climb the stairs anymore after i got kicked out of rieber.

r30028 08-24-2007 06:39 PM

i'm not bringing it but one of my roomates is getting one lol, he wanted one for his room at home and and hes going to bring it along for the dorm

hater_of_haters 08-24-2007 11:17 PM

i dont care, dude, ask him if i can drop by...PLEASE???

hiker 08-28-2007 03:46 PM

Ok, buy push pins, buy XL sheets but not necessarily XL comforter, don't buy white board b/c it's provided...all good info. Anything else about the res hall rooms?

Do most roomates share a frig/microwave and will it fit in a triple?

How cold do the rooms get; what do you use on top of those XL sheets - just a blanket? a thin comforter? both? more?

Residential Hall:
Probably 32-37" at largest. Youl'l have to bring your TV stand and place it by the window.

Residential Plaza:
Up to 57" widescreen I would say. You can do this by moving your desk into the closet, move the bed parallel to the window, and the move in a TV stand to where your desk used to be. That provides a huge area. I've seen someone do this, but it's not really recommended since it's kind of dark and awkward to work from the closet.

hater_of_haters 08-28-2007 08:13 PM

also then you'll have to come out of the closet every now and then, :)

hiker 08-30-2007 05:08 PM

Bookshelves? A lot schools provide bed, desk and bookshelves. Since UCLA does not (right?), do you just pile them on the desk? bring bookends?

hibiscuspink 08-30-2007 05:47 PM

There's a shelf on the desk. You're not gonna bring a library, right? Just pile 'em on the shelf or something. And most textbooks are sturdy enough to stand on their own without a bookend.
