I don't believe there is an IM swimming team. I was somewhat disappointed since I was a swimmer in HS too. They have a women's swim team, but not men's. I just swim for the hell of it when I have a chance over at Sunset Rec.

Hard to say, I've never been to their meets but they look buff so I guess that means they are good, haha. Our women's waterpolo team, however, is #1 in the country! They are the team that brought UCLA to 100 national championships. I'm in the marching band and we went to a lot of their games.

Masters? Well if anything you probably only would have time for regular women's team since you would work your classes around that. I imagine our women's team is just as competitive as any other. There is also a women's diving team too! Head over to Sunset Rec Center (Off of Sunset Blvd.) and ask at the main Pool desk window what opportunities are available or go to http://www.recreation.ucla.edu/recreate/index.aspx OR http://uclabruins.cstv.com/sports/w-...swim-body.html

Sorry, should have been more specific. I meant to say you'd probably only have time for Varsity Women's Swim Team. I don't know if there is a non-varsity swim team (aka: just for the hell of it kind of team). I don't believe there is a JV and Varsity as in high school. It's the big leagues now.

aah, that's too bad that there's only masters as an option if i don't want swimming to be my life, right? i assume that the cuts are intense for women's varsity so there might be quite a bit of fast swimmers who didn't get into varsity in masters?

i was very close to picking a D3 school, believe it or not, and swim there. the coach called me a few days before the nat'l college deadline and i had to email her saying that i picked UCLA! W/E, other factors are MUCH more important. So, here i am

is anyone else here swimmers/former hs swimmers?

I think you may be somewhat confused. Why don't you email the swim instructor? =D
