Grasspuppet: most of us asking these questions have already read the housing thread which by the way has a lot of wonderful information. It does not however, tell you about any personal experiences you have/had about walking from Hedrick to campus or how bad it is to share a bathroom with 6 people, so on and so on...It's nice to hear the personal opinions of the students. Thanks everyone!

I got a double at Sproul Hall, which is a good deal for me since Sproul is newer and I only get one roommate :] I had to apply to be part of a community in order to guarantee myself Sproul though.

I think because it's closer, its easier to gain the freshman 15...

for the OP: Rieber hall is closed for next year that is why you didn't get it
I guess I would be seeing laserbase and duckedtape in sproul I can't believe some of you guys got doubles in res hall, im going to be a second year and we couldn't even get a double in the hall, we had to settle for triple (but kinda because all the doubles in halls left were the ones on lower floors like the bottom 3... we want Penthouse Sproul 7!)

What do you guys think of Dykstra hall? I got that in a triple. Are all the halls pretty much all the same?

So I just got the email:
"We are pleased to extend to you a Housing Offer for a space on-campus for the 2008-2009 academic year"

but NO offer. I clicked the link: UCLA Housing - MyHousing
and still don't see any offers.

btw when I click "view, pay housing offer" or whatever, it just gives me information/facts.

kick53rv3, awesome, thanks, I had no clue about that. I'm actually really starting to like Hedrick, might just be now that I'm in it, but ah well. :]

calitennisgirl, you just have to do a little clicking around, scroll down in that link to "View, Print, Or Make Initial Payment..." then click "View..." again on the menu on the right. Think you have to log in after that, then you're set. Let us know where you're in afterward!

Most freshmen end up with triples. It's really really really rare for a freshmen to get a single/double =(
