So, I'm in an interesting situation... I currently have the possibility of finishing in 3 years, but I am considering taking up a minor and then I will be here for 4. Is it worth it to do this, and take up a minor that is interesting but maybe not vital.. Or is it better to enter the work force, or find a great internship during that fourth year? Any opinions are welcome. Thanks!

unless you're truly interested in the minor i wouldn't do it. i'm not having a minor. it's not going to hurt me for grad school or jobs !

a minor means very very little on your professional school application (again, i don't know how it impacts a job application, but probably a minimal advantage). as namaste said, do it if you are truly interested. otherwise, it's a waste of time.

I know someone who was a music major and math minor. He is currently a math teacher. Said he got the job because he had the math minor.

for some people it's valuable, like the above person who had two very different interests. some people don't need it.
me, i'll have a minor to go along with my psych major because i feel that psych is so broad, i want to have some more specific field of study. also, if i apply to grad school in genetic counseling, having a minor called "society and genetics" seems like it'll help me

minors are def worth it - for reasons

1) youre genuinely interested in a subject
2) you want to augment your major by specializing in a sub-discipline
3) you want something more practical to offset your abstracted, "usless" n. campus major

im cosnidering taking econ and management courses just to have them on my resume for relevant experiences...
