Didn't get roomate request :[

So what can I do if i requested my friend, but didn't get him as my roommate?

I also got sproul hall, can anyone tell me anything about it?

One more thing: When do we get our financial aid information? And how come it says i cannot use financial aid to pay for housing when my EFC is 0?

umm, you should have gotten your finaid a long time ago (or at least I did).

As for the roommate: I guess you could call, but I know that with the renovations, the dorm selection was weird this year. good luck with that!

I know they gave us the estimate a long time ago, but when do the final aid information come out?

Sproul is the newly renovated hall. It looks damn nice - upgraded windows & lighting to match Rieber Terrace/Vista & Hedrick Summit. I'm not sure if they have A/C though, but they may be able to now with all the windows there to help insulate.

You can request a housing change and try to get a room with him. Make sure you and your friend do it though. It's quite possible to get it

thats actually pretty weird... normally they try to match you with your requested roommate first unless you guys picked different types of rooms and had room type being your most important opinion... also they give you your building and roommate info already but not room number?

most likely reason you didn't get matched: one of you made a mistake on the application.

less likely: you got unlucky, and they couldn't feasible get you two into the same room

least likely: they made the mistake

We sat one foot away from each other when we filled it out, so i don't think we really made any mistakes.

I know we aren't roomed together because he got a room in hedrick. I think I'll call UCLA tomorrow to see what i can do.

So if i want to request a housing change, I will have to accept my offer first?

Also, has anyone had trouble using the financial aid plan to pay for housing?

How do you know if you got paired with your requested roommate? On my information, it just tells me I am in Dykstra. My friend/potential roommate also says he was assigned Dykstra, but I don't see his name or ID number anywhere on the thing.

Just accept it, and make the housing request. Have your friend do the same, and try to put the exact same answers. For payment, you will just end up paying the difference between your final offer and first offer. I went through this last year and that is what they told me when I called.
