| Err. Are you a transfer? I'm assuming you're not, since you mention HS stats and mention the SATs. If you're a first year, being chanced for comm is irrelevant. You cannot be accepted directly into comm. You would have to apply and be accepted undecided or for another major, and then apply to comm at the end of your freshman or sophomore year and get accepted from there, once you complete GEs and pre-reqs at UCLA. Anyone who told you to re-take the SATs to get a better chance of admission for comm doesn't understand how the major works.
Once you're accepted to UCLA, you need a high gpa and completion of lower div classes for the major to have a good shot at admission. ECs may or may not have any impact, unless they demonstrate a specific interest in some aspect of the field. Sports, social clubs, etc are not taken into account and if an EC is to be considered, it should be one you participate in as a UCLA student. Don't list HS ECs or activities on the comm app. |
