Math Placement Test So what type of Math is on the placement test during orientation? Pre Cal or Calculus AB stuff? Also, what happens if we do horrible on the placement test/do not pass the test? Do we get placed in a lower class below Math 31A?

... i don't think you should worry about it... unless you didn't take pre cal in highschool you should pass easily, no calc stuff, not even limits or simple derivatives

If you're worried about the math placement test, switch to the English major!

It is SUPER easy. I just took the exam at orientation 101. There is some pre-calc, geometry, algebra. I don't remember any calculus. There are 60 questions and you need to get 36+ right to be in math 31a (which is calculus based). If not, you're placed in math 1, which is pre-calc.
