Take some GEs in fields that sound interesting to you.

Are you changing out because you *dislike* life science or just because you did "horrible"?

This is the best advice - just start taking lower div classes that sound interesting. But if you're actually interested in Life Sciences, stick it out - I didn't do great in 14C (or 14D haha) either.

I'm interested in psychology, but I don't want to go to grad school for psychology so there's no point in having a psych degree. I'm switching majors because I dislike life science and I did "horrible".

What do you mean? You can do more than just a masters or PhD in psych with a psych degree.

really like what? i was told by many people that it's a "useless" major if you don't get a masters or PhD in psych

Professional programs that are major-independant (law, medicine), etc.

Oh that sucks. It took me 1 quarter to realize I didn't wanna be a life science major (was Psychobio my first quarter and took Chem14A). Hated Chem14A and also didn't do very well. Luckily fall quarter I took GE Cluster 60A (Politics and History of the 1960s) and fell in love with politics and history. I am now a Political Science and History double major And pre-law!

The fact that he did horrible really puts a damper on your suggested professional schools of law and medicine, since the science classes are what really matter for medicine, and the gpa is what matters for law school, although this also applies to medicine.

no degree is useless. Some are just more useful than others.

Eh, doing poorly in 2 classes (even science classes) won't kill your chances for either of those fields. But I guess this was my main point...
