Modern Art/ Art History 54

Did anyone take this class with Prof. Baker? I'm currently enrolled and am considering dropping. Any thoughts on the class, such as are all the extensive readings absolutely necessary? How difficult are the papers graded, and how difficult is the midterm/final? Any input would be GREATLY appreciated. :]

i took the class with the previous professor, boime, (who unfortunately i hear has passed away) about 2 years ago.

i'm/was an engineer so i didnt give the class as much attention as i did my other classes.....for me, I pretty much just scanned all the readings and tried to filter out all of the important info. I DEFINITELY did not read everything, because there simply was too much. What helped alot for me was that i had a friend or 2 in the class also, so we each made study guides and shared them and tried to split up the workload for each of us. I believe i ended the quarter with a B.....

yeah, in hindsight, the class was kinda tough because of all the crap they make you read/write....

and i remember the TAs were such hard-asses for the homework/essays that we had to do

NONETHELESS, again, since i was an engineer, and i didnt really give the class nearly as much effort as my other classes....and still ended with a B.....the class should be DOABLE for you guys. it really depends how much effort you want to put into it.
