Chem 20A midterm w/Scerri

Anyone else find it ridiculously difficult? For me it was way harder than the past midterms that were in the pink book....

I think I bombed it.

I felt I did pretty well except for the hisenberg question curveball...and to make it worse I figured out how to do it after my friend told me the gist of it and I mulled it around in my head on the way back up the hill after the text.

Yeah that heisenberg thing was ********...we never did any calculations related to that nor did he give any indication that we would need to know how to do them. If I had more time I probably could have figured it out, but I was too stressed to think clearly and wrap my head around it.

He was very tricky with the units too and I think I may have made a few mistakes there.

And I could not remember exactly what the short form periodic table looked like or list its advantages. That's a big chunk of the test right there.

I'm not too surprised actually, it was fair game. When I came to college, I was prepared for no more hand holding. My friend figured out the heisenberg question and the short form question was on a midterm I got from the test bank, so I don't think the curve will be that nice.

I don't think it will be too forgiving either. The curve can actually hurt you if enough people do well, correct? Hopefully that does not happen.

Well, guess I needed to learn the hard way. Nothing like a little motivation.

However, I will say one thing, the review session on Friday was the biggest waste of time.

I'm not sure I understand you GotLactose, you mean your friend had the test questions before he took it?

No, he figured it out during the test and I got a copy of a 2007 test from the test bank from SAC.

I'm not sure if I got te answers correct, some of the answers I calculated seem odd. Anyone wanna share answers, if that's even allowed?

That test sucked. I studied all weekend and it didn't help much. The reader has proven to be both essential and useless at the same time.

Where in the building specifically can you get access to the old tests? I tried going there once but couldn't find it.
