brown's grading for 31a?

Okay, so I just had my first midterm and I totally epic failed the damn thing - 39 w/ median at 68. YES, thats right a ****in 39. I don't understand how it happened considering I was doing well on all the hw/quizzes/practice problems/sample midterms/etc...

Anyways, is anyone familiar with his grading. I just want to pull a b. I am an econ/international studies major so I only need 31a an 31 b and am more than content with a c. According to bruinwalk, he rarley gives lower than a c, was anyone in a similar situation?

Thanks.

I'm also wondering about this. What is the standard deviation for this test? Did anyone ask?

Also, with that in mind, what score is required to get the full 20% of this test counted toward the final grade?

Is there only 1 midterm? If there are 2 midterms, try to get a higher score on the next midterm. If you do this and ace the final, the professor will usually take that improvement into consideration.

I don't have any experience with Math 31A/31B because I started with 32A my 1st quarter but I got an A- (Chase) for Math 32A even though I did horrible on 1st midterm, decent on 2nd, and pretty well on the final.
