I have a hold on my account

URSA says its from L&S, ECP, Murphy Hall

anyone have an idea who to call so i can get an answer?

Call the registrar or undergraduate academic counseling.

Sounds like the hold is in regards to the minimum credit requirement (Expected Cumulative Progress, ECP)

I have the same problem! I register next week and I need to get my hold taken off. I've been calling the academic counseling but I get an automated answer saying they can't take my call at the moment. What should I do? Do I need to physically go to Murphy and talk to a counselor to get my hold taken off?

Hello I emailed them for same reason im in same situation. no u do not need to physically go..but u need to call them on moday (they are closed today)..my worry is that the hold will not be removed soon enough...i will keep u updated..when is ur first pass sdbruin?

note: none of this would have happened if those orientation ppl had told us about this whole ECP thing..for all the money i paid for orientation i expect to be informed about BASIC things like this.....

First, log on to "myucla" to find out what your ECP shortage is. You will find the ECP link on the left side under "my features". From there you'll find the link to the UCLA ECP website which is under "Handouts" on the left side of the screen. I didnt know about ECP either but fortunately my mom did!

I had that and went to Murphy to make an appointment. When I went to one of the windows to make an appointment the chick said I would be okay since Im taking summer classes and I wont be short of ECP after I pass them. She removed the hold with one click.

I noticed that I had a hold mid-spring quarter and I went in and talked to a counselor. After the appointment she told me that the hold would be taken off immediately, but it would take a couple of days to process. It ended up taking around half a week or a week until I could log into my enrollment menu
