If UC admissions continues to get more competitive, there may be a year where UC Riverside does not take all UC-eligible applicants, but there's always UC Merced!

Somehow I doubt that Dlnitsud.

Riverside is ranked in the top 100 schools nationally, Merced is in its own special place. Merced has ALOT of growing to do, whereas Riverside already has many established programs. Merced for some time will continue to be at the bottom of the UC's, thats just what happens with newer schools. Thats part of the reason why Harvard, CAL, Yale, etc are such good schools, they have been around for so long!

One day, I bet Merced will slip up in the top 100 National Universities, but we must give it time.

"thats just one reason we should completely get rid of the SAT's--the inaccuracy to show a student's ability."

That's just nonsense IMO. Grades are far more important as they take into account other factors such as study habits, work ethic, responsiblity, personal motivation, etc. But test scores are the most fair and accurate way of measuring a student's intelligence.
