indeed I am, although just barely after midterms haha :-p

Do I regret not going to cal? Humm, well I realistically would have a 2.5-3.2 there, making my Med school admissions a FAR fetched' dream. I have a 3.7 here, making my Med school admission to Stanford, UCLA, and Johns Hop. very realistic. I dont regret it at all.----Your college experience is what YOU make it, does not matter where you are. I really cant stress that last point enough.

Music here, humm well I past a table of people breakdancing to rap today....never wanted to drop kick someone so much in my life to tell you the truth lolol. Inless your into two-steppin', I dont see much at all for an avid musician here. I would highly sugest going to UCLA or Cal if your interested in music....but if you come here know that there are a few clubs with other musicaians, so you wont be a lone ranger here rofl :-P

Morecowbell !! Iwish there were more advocates for this school. My D is a freshmen. At first she was apprehensive at attending , but now she is fully acclimated and enjoying every minute. She loves the small class sizes. She loves getting to know her professors . Her gpa 3.5.

Well thanks MORECOWBELLS for your insightful responses!
I am so glad you believe I am most likely in.. But I cant wait the damned 2-3week "decision making" period... Aghhh
I have a few questions...
1) Is it "fun" there? like do people go to downtown Merced or anything?

2) I live in So. Cal... Like Orange County (Near UC Irvine)... Do you think its too far for me to drive back here once in awhile?

3) Hows the weather? I hate places that are too sunny and hot!

4) What do you rate the Asian girls? (I am Asian as you can guess by my screenname lol)

Off topic question..
What kind of cars do they drive up there? Is it like "Mitsubishi Lancer Evo" or like "Economical" or "BMW"

1) Well, hummm interesting question. I have to refer back to my whole "college is what you make it" quote to answer this one. Some people find this place a meca of activities, others consider it to be a jail of boredom. I'm somewhere in between the two. I think there can be a plethora of improvements to social aspects for this college.....ie have FRATS/SOR's , Every year however vast imporvements are made on this front, but I still cant help to think that UCLA > UC Merced in fun/ stuff to do. I probably go into town at least once a day, movie theater, food, and wal mart are there. The essentials of life....

2) I'm also from socal, (OC/San deigo area). I've drivin home once in awhillllle, but I wouldnt do it more than once a month....and if you do I would have a more economical car than a truck.

3) Weather here makes me miss socal weather w/o a shadow of a doubt. It's windy/cold most of the school year, it doesnt get too hot...inless you stay for summer (bring some sunscreen)

4) 9.

5) how was asian girls on topic...lol jk But theres a pretty wide diversity of cars here....if cars could be diverse entities. You wont see any high class cars/kids showing off there money like at ucla/ucsd. PEOPLE ARE JUST GENERALY MORE HUMBLE HERE in all aspects of life <----- one of the most appealing aspects of this school.

I am planning to switch cars when I go to college ( I drive an RX8 gas guzzler lol) so...and my mom will force me to come down at least once a month.
Haha yay a 9!! As long as Merced has a functional theater Im happy, I dont really drink much either =P

lol you got in if you have like a 2.8 UC GPA i think. If not, appeal and they would probably accept you. I will show you all 4 buildings here at UC Merced if you get in hahha :-p (jk theres like 20 buildings I think). But as the old saying goes, "Size doesnt matter"......hummm I think that should be UC Merceds new motto...rofl

If it's Asian girls you're after, then you can't go wrong with UCI! Even just walking there during the summer when most classes are out...
Let's just say that there were many very, very fine looking Asian girls. -_-'

Coming from a predominatly white school (with 3.25 Asians in my senior class including myself) in a predominatly white retirement town in the middle of the dry, dry desert, I found UCI's demographics very refreshing. But then again, maybe it's just that I'm really deprived here. :P

But I digress. "Size doesn't matter." would be a hilarious slogan for UCM.

Heh, I got in, just check the MyUCM site. I dunno if I will be attending though, I am hoping for UCI or UCSB really. UCSD maybe :P

-edit-

Just curious, I play badminton a lot and I was wondering if there was any sort of intermural team/club there?

JeffreyC: Merced is lacking in a lot with regards to sports...but I have to say that badminton has one of the largest followings here. I personally hate it with every fiber of my body lol :-P

CChappy: Yes, tours will be given during that time slot, our spring break is not during that time so you'll even be able to ask/talk to some UC Merced students while we run to our next class lol

Aznxkaiser: I will be stunned if you dont get in.
