hahaha I appologize about the "other" info; it's just ppl make UCM seem so horrible when it's not. Ppl say it's horrible just because it doesn't have the prestige of UCLA, the beautiful campus as UCSB, and the amazing location as UCB.

You have to get at least a 3.0 GPA to be considered eligible for UC admission. With anything below 3.0, you have to have a good reason for the low gpa plus either good sat/act/ec/volunteer.

That is the bottom line. However, just because you meet these requirements doesn't mean you'll get into UCM. If ppl who have better stats then you apply also then they'll get in before you. So the claim that:UCs (particularly Merced and Riverside) automatically accept in-state students who've completed the A-G requirement with a 3.0 UC GPA - is not true. It's all about competition along with the requirements being meet; generalizing, in this case, doesn't work.
