I wouldn't be so worried haha. After all, the UCR group on Facebook doesn't have very many members, only about 250 something haha.

As for the phone situation, it is extremely hard to get through. I pressed redial like 5 times before someone picked up.

I actually got through this morning at which point the girl on the phone told me that my application had not been looked at yet and that there was no set date for when they would tell me. I called BS on this (of course I didn't tell her this) because: (1) It says they will tell all on-time students by April 30th on their website, (2) I called the same number on 4/22 and they told me that I would hear by April 30th, and (3) My transfer advisor told me that I would hear by the 30th. She transferred me to leave a message for someone named Linda there and assured me that I'd receive a phone call back. It's 20 minutes to 5pm and I haven't heard back.

I'm so frustrated.

iambianca: Did it show up on the my.ucr.edu website in alerts that they needed your transcripts?

Yes, but I didn't get that alert until April 22nd. The lady on the phone said that they've sent letters in the mail AND e-mails that they're requesting for my transcripts. I never received any of those, (I even check my junk mail on my email account) except for that alert on my.ucr.edu. That's why it took them a long time to get through my app.

I'm glad that they at least looked at your application and I hope you hear some good news soon. Mine is apparently stuck in limbo. I guess my next phone call will be tomorrow since I think they lied about me getting a phone call back when I left a message.

Thanks

If you've sent them your transcripts, you should hear from them in like 2-3 weeks. The deadline for the SIR is on June 1st, so they should send out decisions before that date.

I didn't send them my transcripts because I was told that I didn't need to unless it was requested -- do you think I should just go ahead and send them? I asked my transfer advisor before, although he has since not responded to my last 2 email inquiries.

When you called this morning, did you ask them if you need to send your transcripts? Try to call them tomorrow and ask them about it just to be safe. In the meantime, go to your my.ucr and check under "my documents" if it says "not received" on your school transcripts, then chances are, they need it. BUT, you should check with them first. Call them and ask. Also, check your email. Maybe they sent you an email about it but it got stuck in the junk/spam mail.

@ cathead:

Haha, strange. My call was transferred to Linda as well. After I spoke with her, and a day later, I was accepted.

abcdefgary: She may be their fall back if someone doesn't agree with what they say on the phone. I bet she received a bunch of phone messages yesterday. I'm going to call again and ask about the transcripts and maybe ask about when I should be hearing back since I promised a call back that never came.

Every time I call, I feel like the people there hate their jobs. I probably wouldn't like to work there, either, but that's why I wouldn't choose that as my line of work. Whatever.

Called and they reiterated the "rolling basis" of admission decisions and completely glossed over what is stated very clearly on their website. Told me that Linda has 3-5 business days to get back to me.

And my transfer advisor has probably decided to never write to me again, which is stupid because it's his job. Whatever.

PS - The guy said that I don't need to send in my transcripts until they ask and it would only need to be in by June or July 15th (can't remember which, but I read that online, too).
