How does work study work?! Do they pay us with our financial aid money?

I was wondering cuz my friend said they will pay us from our financial aid money.
I was like ---> =O! Is this true? I saw on the work study website that they will pay us with a check in the end of the month like a real job. How does this work study thing work?

Oh..so does that mean it's not from the financial aid money? I mean do they give us the work study money from fafsa w/o having to work?

ok so listen, this is how it works

Every student who has work study has been approved a certain amount of money they can make each quarter through fafsa.....you have to work for the money, you do not just receive it. During each quarter you are allowed to make up to a certain amount of money which you receieve a check for every month and can use that money towards anything you want

Does that make more sense?

There is a limit. I think you aren't allowed to work more than 19 hours a week under work study.

No, I don't think you are allowed to work for more than what's proposed under work-study, just because it seems like everyone would work for more if they could, and work study money is scarce. You could always have a non-work study job...
