visitors

To current students: Have you had boy/girlfriends visit you on campus? Are people allowed to sleep in the lounge? What do you think of it? In general, is visitation a good thing...or will it cause tension between you and your roomie?

Lounges have two couches, one-two coffee tables, sometimes a TV, and peoples books on the tables. Its in the middle of all the rooms so its very communal.

depends on college, i think warren doesnt have "lounges" per se, they have common rooms in each suite (shared between the 8 people), the one i visited had a table, a couch, maybe an armchair? no tv though. depends on who brings what

for res halls, not sure about apts. do those have lounges anyways?

common rooms are particular to your suite... so only the people living on your floor or your suite can access them. lounges usually will have a kitchen and are accessible to a whole building; however this varies from college to college. people arent supposed to sleep in the common rooms, but usually nobody cares. i fell asleep on the common room sofa last year almost every other day. so having a bf/gf visit you isn't that big of a deal. the legal part of it is that you can have a guest in your room, as long as your roommie oks it, and they can't stay for more than 2 nights, i believe. if your roommate isnt horribly anal, this is never a problem.

and honestly, no one cares about the 2 days only rule, unless your guest is being horrible to your roommate.
