Move-in date for John Muir College is, indeed, September 16! If you have the September 15 Orientation date, you will be given early-lodging!
Hope that helps, Gracie :}

"September:
On-campus lodging is optional for our September Orientation. Only students with a confirmed housing contract will be eligible to be housed in a temporary space on-campus for the nights of September 14th and 15th.
Please note that the September Orientation on-campus lodging check-in will be possible only on Thursday, September 14th from 3:00pm - 5:00pm. There will be NO lodging check-on on Friday, September 15th. "
......im so very confused....

i think the idea (pretty lame, if this is what i'm getting) is that you can go to ucsd on sept 14 and sleep a night in a dorm, get up and go to orientation for friday sept 15, and then ya gotta go haul all your dorm stuff and your family to a holiday inn somewhere in san diego for the night of sept 15, then come back the next day for move-in day on sept 16. hope that made sense. that is so lame.

No, that's not the idea. Read again: "Only students with a confirmed housing contract will be eligible to be housed in a temporary space on-campus for the nights of September 14th and 15th." You get a temporary dorm room on campus for both nights.
"There will be NO lodging check-on on Friday, September 15th." All this means is that you don't have to check in for your room again, since you already checked in on Thursday.
I think, though, since it says temporary space, you'll have to move into your real dorm room after orientation. I think.

fish0matic got it right partially:
"There will be NO lodging check-on on Friday, September 15th." All this means is that you don't have to check in for your room again, since you already checked in on Thursday."
This means that if you do not move into your room on Sept 14 you will not be allowed to move-in on Sept 15.
"I think, though, since it says temporary space, you'll have to move into your real dorm room after orientation. I think."
The dorm room you move into on Sept 14 is your actual/permanent room.

well i got a reply back from the ucsd people. they said that fish0matic is right, basically. you get lodging for 14th/15th, in a TEMPORARY room, not your permanent room.

Only move in the essentials into the temp space and then keep the rest of the stuff in the car. There's no need to do this whole process twice.
