not especially so. i mean, there will always be people who fail every class they attempt and there will be a few who breeze through the same classes ... but our pass rates are pretty reasonable and professors certainly aren't there to fail you. i've TAed for many of the professors and they're generally happy to seek TA input, like "student X should be bumped from a B+ to an A-, he had to babysit his lab partner the entire quarter and really did a considerate job with that"
i really liked my major ... but then again, i'm kind of a closest nerd.
