Question about UCSD Grant and Cal Grant A

Hello..i got accepted to UCSD but ihave a question concerning their financial aid
On the admissions website it says i'll get a UCSD GRANT of 8.700 or so..does this 8,700 include a Cal Grant A, or are the UCSD grant and Cal Grant A separate awards?

Apparently separate because I was denied for the Cal Grant A/B but still got a similar amount (~8700) from UCSD. So I don't think they're the same thing at all.
