help?

I'm trying to budget my expenses for the upcoming school year, but I'm really confused on how much UCSD would cost. I tried researching on my own, but I'm having a hard time finding the answers. The figure that UCSD gives for the total estimated cost for the 08-09 school year is about $24,000 for an off-campus undergrad, but I imagine that's a gross overestimate....I hope. I don't understand some of the fees that are listed. What are "resident fees"? How much is tuition per quarter for a full-time undergrad?

Can someone give me an estimate of the cost of attending UCSD for one year as an off-campus undergrad based on your own experience? I'm aware that it's different for everyone, but I just want to get an idea of the cost. I want to know so I can figure out how much in loans I should take out. Thanks!
