Hello,

I am a junior in electrical engineering at UIUC who is interested in graduate school. I hear that UCSD's program in the area of communications (due to its proximity to companies like Qualcomm) is growing rapidly. I am particularly interested in DSP and digital communications. Can anyone comment on the EE graduate program at UCSD and how it compares to, say, USC? How difficult is it to obtain funding through an RAship or TAship? How about faculty/student interaction? Any help would be great.

UCSD has one of the strongest communications groups in the nation, I believe. I have no idea how it compares to USC, but based on the previous sentence I would guess that UCSD is better. You could go to ece.ucsd.edu and email some graduate advisers or professors for some better answers.
