Poli 12 - Intro to Intl. Relations (Roeder)

Has anyone had him before? I have him right now but I have no idea how he tests the identification (ID) on mid-terms; can someone please provide a sample question? Many thanks : )

I had him fall quarter last year. I can't find my blue book though, I threw it away.

The test was ALL free response. He only tested on key terms, he'll throw out a term like Failure of Balancing / Failure of Deterrence and ask you to describe it and then write why this was important and what the pros and cons of each one are.

Make sure you know the German assaults on Versailles, I remember stuff on the first midterm from that last year.

He also has questions about certain views, alternate views and critiques on the views. make sure you write as much as you can to get all the points possible

I have him right now as well, and I'm pretty lost on this essay. Doubt the IDs tomorrow will be fun either.

What on earth would you write for failure of balancing/failure of deterrence? I'm assuming this was part of his power and strategy lecture, but I cant seem to find much to describe o__o

*cry*

To be honest, I stopped going to lecture everyday mid-way through (I was taking it P/NP tho). he posts his slides and my TA was really helpful and went over everything on the midterm during the discussion + gave us study guides.

I wouldn't say you have to memorize everything but focus on important stuff like causes of wars, views of wars and critiques, and any key terms he talks about in class, i cant remember if he bolds them or not. he says a lot of stuff in class that isnt tested on

my TA was Ben Tang, i dunno if hes still doing it or not
