Uh...for one thing, the major is only impacted in the biology department. Since you're a bio major already, you can switch freely into whatever major in that department you want, be it neurscience, general bio, molecular bio, bioinformatics, etc. The difference is that bioinformatics in the Bio or Chem department is not considered an engineering major, while bioinformatics in the BioE or CSE department is considered an engineering major (this is especially important if you are in Warren). Also, some of the courses I believe are different (I think the major has fewer classes in the Bio department than the BioE and CSE department, but you'll have to check that on your own). Switching is easy; you can do it on tritonlink by clicking "major and minor" and changing it there.
I'm a 2nd year in Bioengineering: Bioinformatics. I'm liking it so far, especially my CSE classes. IMO, the CS students are a lot smarter than the bio students (frightening since a lot of these bio people are premed). When I do CSE labs, I tend to learn more from my classmates than anything else. If you haven't already, start taking CSE classes; if you can get through 11, 12, and 21, you should be able to adjust comfortably to the major.
As for you're 20 series dilemma, Math 10C is considered a prerequisite for Math 20C, so you can just take Math 20C for 2 units. Since Math 20C is the only prerequisite for 20D and 20F (both of which are required for the major), you should have no problem.
Also, don't forget to take the Physics 2 series.
