Orientation conflicting with summer session

so anyone taking summer session where it conflicts with going to orientation? it might depend on your instructor but maybe you can skip class that day and go to orientation. After going to the summer transition thing not really sure i need orientation. I signed up for the second date available cause the first one conflicted with the first orientation date and i thought i had to take this class in session A and heard that instructor won't really let you miss class or you get docked points.

haven't sign up for session A yet, thought i was supposed to do hat at the summer transition thing but the department advisor said the class was full. I signed up for the july 30th one hoping to take a day off class that day. Think its like around 75 bucks to go, but is it really necessary? didn't they tell you everything at summer transition, i think i can just go register online the classes i need instead of going to orientation and registering there.
