Registering for Classes. What is a 'Pass'.

What is a pass exactly? I'm a little confused. When I log onto Gold it tells me:

"You can not modify your schedule for Fall 2008 because:

You are currently not within one of your scheduled pass times for this quarter. If you have logged in minutes before your pass start time, please logout and log back in to allow the system to refresh your appointment time. Then you will be able to start registration.

For more Information and Dates related to registration for this quarter or another quarter see Registration Info."

What do I do??

The pass dates are the dates that you are allowed to register for classes online. There is a consensus with all of us new students that our Pass 1 date is going to be on our orientation day, as none of us have a Pass 1 date displayed on our GOLD accounts.

I read your other thread and I'm sorry about your situation that is holding you back from attending orientation, since that is the day that we will all be signing up and adding classes. I say you call Administration and find out if they can schedule a Pass 1 day for you sooner than your Pass 2 day so that way you can add classes. That would be the logical thing to do in my opinion.

Thank you for the explanation. I am actually going to be on campus on Monday so maybe I'll stop by at the appropriate office and talk to them about it. Yours is a good suggestion, and I get what a pass is now.

Thanks!

Coolness Aly! I'm Raul Q. Feel free to find me on facebook. I'm the only Raul Q. in the network. I continue to do so, but I wish you luck on Monday at Administration!

New students do not get a pass 1 time (only continuing students do). Pass 2 is scheduled during Orientation and pass 3 for September. If you are not attending an Orientation session, you won't have an opportunity to register for classes until September. Sorry...
