Question about AP credits, and orchestra(music majors advice please!)

First off, I made a thread last week about having to decide to go to UCI or UCSB....and I chose UCSB! So I'll be seein you guys there in the fall!

Now for questions: I'm a Bio Sci major, and I get a lot of AP general ed credits from my scores, like it looks as if my Science/Math and Social Science subcategories of GE reqs are completely eliminated, as well as a few other classes. It almost seems too good to be true. Im going to call one of their counselors and ask anyway, but any comments if they are this lenient are welcome.

Ok, now my other question. I dont plan on becoming a music major or anything, but I play the violin at an orchestra level. Would I be able to join their orchestra or take music classes even as a nonmusic major? And from anyone in their orchestra, what's it like? Is it really difficult, am I going to be spending hours and hours a day practicing, etc? Ok, now say I do end up double majoring in music, or just taking a ton of music classes replacing my AP credit ones skipped, anyone done that before? How hard would it be, is it possible? And finally(sorry for so many questions!) Im really unfamiliar with college courses, so what kind of classes do you take as a music major?

Sorry for the long post, and thanks for any advice/comments!
