Higher out of state acceptance because of budget crisis?

I know Berkeley plans on accepting more out-of-state applicants because of the UC budget crisis. Is this the case for UCSB also? I'm out-of-state, which has always seemed to be a disadvantage in the UC admissions process. I'm going to be applying next month (for Fall 2010). Will my chances now be better because of the budget crisis?

Maybe. But in the end it doesn't matter. If you are really thinking of paying $50,000 a year for a public UC, you are crazy. Plus, that number will only go up as the crisis continues. I am a freshman at UW-Madison. I applied to UCSB last year and got in. It was my dream school and I wanted to go there so badly. But when looking at the cost vs. academic experience it makes no sense. I'm receiving the same education for $23,000/year. I figured sh1t, why not save $100,000?

If your family is a multi-millionaire family, then I would say, yeah maybe it's worth it. If not, not worth it at all.

That's just my two cents.
