I was wondering if you can pick your own roommate when you choose your dorm? Or is it randomly selected? I'm an incoming freshmen if that makes a difference.

If both people are assigned the same college and request each other it is highly likely that you will be roommates, otherwise there is a questionnaire for students to fill out that will match you with someone with similar interests.

i was supposed to room with a friend at college ten, but we got into different colleges..i'm planning to appeal, but is there any way i can request her through my housing application for merrill?

@bananaslugg1994 No, you need to have the same college to request each other (or so I'm told). Either you or your friend has to appeal to the other college.
