| It sounds like I'm basically just the same as most of you on the last page there.
I'm into video games, meeting people, just chilling out, but I also want to be able to study.
I'm not into the drugs/party scene at all.
I like Cowell because it sounds like it has the most normal/cool people.
Only thing I'm worrying about - is it known for it's partying? Like any more than the others? Because I really want to avoid that.
Crown sounds good because I like video games/am doing a computer science major.
I just don't want to be surrounded by people with no life.
Porter because I like the whole laid back, chill lifestyle. I also like that they have something about a digital media aspect.
But I really am not into drugs at all. I could live with it I suppose, but I want people to respect that I don't want to do it. And honestly, I'm kind of worried that the people will be totally weird. I mean, I like artsy/creative people, but... I dunno. |

| I guess I'm in the same boat as you two:
I'm a gamer who wants to be with other gamers, but not with nerds who study ALL the time/have no social life.
I want to have a social life with people in my building...
I want to be able to study when I need to/be able to sleep
I don't want to have a ton of druggies, partiers or preps around, either.
I'm thinking of Crown since I'm going to be a computer game design major and I figure the most gamers would be there. Cowell is starting to appeal to me because it seems to be the most well rounded. I was considering Porter because I like to be artsy sometimes, but I'm worried about it having too many stoners...
I'm guessing there aren't many suggestions, but any would help. Thanks. |

| vewong, I'm a gamer, and I want a social life, so I'm choosing Porter. I'm also getting the game design major. I honestly think for the most part its the same amount of druggies as anywhere else, i hear its just that people are a lot more open about it at porter. I think me and you would be better off at Porter, theres apparently a gaming scene there, and its not a really quiet college like crown. |

| Hehe, I am a gamer too and I put Crown as my fourth choice. Like you, I do not want to be around study machines all the time. I am thinking a lot of people coming to UCSC like to do online gaming. I'd bet a nickel you will find a scene in every dorm. |

| Well computer games... I have an xbox360/wii but I probably will not bring them since I doubt there are a lot of console gamers at UCSC... or are there? |

| Heh. I was actually wondering if there was more console gaming or PC gaming at Santa Cruz...I'm going to try to bring my Wii with me, and I'm hopefully getting a tricked out gaming laptop before I go away for school. Unfortunately, I definitely do not have enough money to get a gaming desktop and a school work laptop...but oh, how I wish.
Anyway, I usually go for Starcraft or WoW (I know, terribly cliche) on PC, but sometimes I stray into CSS or Half-Life. In terms of consoles, I'm a brawl girl. |
