Roommate- with friends or new guys?

so two of my friends in highschool are going to be roommates, should I join them or should i look for new people? I know college is more about meeting new guys and if i have new roommates it will force me to make new friends. Also do you reccomend duos, trios or quads (forgot what its called). I usually have problems sleeping btw, too many ppl snoring wouldn't be a good thing.

new people because
1. you'll have the authentic college experience
2. what if your friendship with them turns sour after living with them? (they might make for fine friends but could be annoying/gross to live with)
3. i think you fill out a survey when you apply for housing, and they try to match you with people with same sleeping habits and such
