if you dont get a 680 or higher on your writing SAT or if you dont pass an english AP with a 3 or higher. you have to take a placement exam.

bananaslug, the test is really really easy. I took it last year at the end of AP English and the writing prompt was very easy to understand. No need to study or anything. The writing placement exam is much easier than the SAT writing, and it looks like you did just fine on that.

haha yeah I am not all that worried about the actual exam.
its just that I have prom that night, which means i had to move around my work schedule. my boss was very adament that i had to work that saturday, and the only option was to work in the morning. meaning I could fight this out with my boss and be potentially fired, or not take it. hmmm.

and hey! how come I didnt have the opportunity to take it last year? bahh

Ouch. That is a bad situation. Surely one of the two parties could have some sympathy for you, UCSC or your boss.

Maybe you could just tell UCSC flat out that your far too busy and ask for the exam rescheduled?

honestly, it is better to choose college over work. If they like you working there, then they're not going to fire you over something school related. That's ridiculous! You're going to be at college for the next 4 years, work will be over by fall... right? If they fire you, get a new job... where management is flexible and courteous and realizes that you are a student before an employee

I didn't even get an e-mail or something in the mail about this. Thankfully I heard it from my friend before it was too late.
