UCSC Parking

I will be a freshmen at UCSC and I am coming from Louisiana and I planned on taking my car because it's the only way to get my stuff there. It says that freshmen are not given parking permits but that you can appeal for one. If I can't keep my car there, my dad will have to drive it all the way back and it will be a huge inconvenience. I was just wondering if I tell them my situation will I have a good shot of getting a parking permit and if not are there any other options for parking a car on or near campus? Thanks.

chances of getting a campus permit are slim-to-none. However, you can get permits for city lots, the boardwalk, or one of the churches on high street.
