Has anyone received a Pegasus Scholarship in '08?

I'm curious if they're still giving them out, or if they already ran out of money to give to students. I got my acceptance letter a month ago and I didn't recieve any notices of scholarships :/ I wonder if I missed out.

I received the silver scholarship ($8000) in the mail just this past weekend actually and I was almost certain I wouldn't get anything because my friends with gold got theirs like 2 weeks after acceptance and I was accepted some time in December so don't lose hope. =]

I was wondering the same thing, Seiclan. My D's considering pharmacy, too (among engineering and medicine LOL), and we were wondering if there might be potential consequences down the line of applying to UF later for pharmacy school if she chose to attend another state school (in terms of do UF kids, when comparing apples to apples, get an edge for pharmacy admittance).

My daughter changed from graduate school in Pharmacy to wanting to be a Physician's Assistant but we had researched the Pharmacy schools last year at one point. Now though, the Health Science degree should more than adequately get her ready for a masters at a PA program.

Yes I've been wanting to do pharmacy for a long time, so I definitely plan on it.

I was curious about that as well earlier this year zebes, but I went on a pharmacy forum and a lot of people have gone to different state universities (such as UCF) for undergrad and still get accepted to UF's pharmacy school, so it's not out of the ordinary.

Pharmacy's great, I heard Registered Pharmicists can make six figures out of college.

But back on the Pegasus award stuff, has anyone else recieved this award and can help me out in figuring out whether or not I'll get / help me stop worrying about it? I've begin communicating with the ucf adminstration via email, but it hasn't gotten me any answers so far.

I got a email back from the ucf administration:

"
Congratulations on your admission to UCF. We begin awarding scholarships to students quite early in the year and at this time our scholarship funds are very limited. The Scholarship Appeal Committee is considering all students at this time on a case-by-case basis. You are welcome to submit a letter requesting scholarship consideration and the Scholarship Committee would be happy to review your credentials to determine if there is any scholarship money available. Feel free to include any supporting documentation, like awards from other schools, you feel support your appeal.

You can fax the letter to 407-823-3419 and to my attention.

If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact me.
"

Should I ask them for more info on what I should send?

Also I have no awards from other schools because I didn't apply to other schools.

Good afternoon, myname, and congratulations! The Scholarship Committee has decided to adjust your scholarship status after a thorough review of your academic credentials.

You have been awarded the Pegasus Gold Scholarship! The Pegasus Gold Scholarship is for up to $10,000 to a maximum of eight semesters (applied during the fall and spring semesters only). This breaks down to $1,250 each fall and spring semester.

Within the next seven to ten business days, you will receive your official scholarship award letter in the mail. The information you receive will provide you with details on your scholarship, including how to accept and maintain it.

Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you!

Disclaimer: This e-mail is for informational purposes only. It does not constitute an admission or scholarship offer.

In response to me sending them a fax appealing the scholarship.

Blaze - I would love to pass this info on to a friend of mine for her daughter. What was the name of the person that the fax was to be sent to the attention of?
By the way, congratulations!
