UCF vs Florida Tech

I want to attend colleges in central FL. I come from China.

Can anyone compare UCF vs Florida Tech (i.e. FL Institute of Technology). I like FL Tech because of its small classes and relativel high % of international students. I can't find any needed information in FL Tech's board.

I need more information about UCF & particularly FL Tech, especially its chemistry & sciences departments (other than space & marine & engin related). Thanks Thanks Thanks!

Shafted? Mind if I ask what you mean? I'm curious.

And I'm sorry, I don't know too much about FIT to give tc a good answer.

My friend's daughter attends FIT and says it is great for Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering and the sciences. Being private it is a lot smaller (2,500 undergrads) and much more expensive ($28,000 tuition) to attend FIT and there are many more males 72%:females 28%. The location is nice near the ocean in Melbourne and close to the space center.

Thanks cybermom.

I read from Fiske Guide that FIT is strong in aero, space, marine and engineering related, but there is no comments on other programs.

Does your friend's D has any knowledge or comments about the chemistry, maths or general sciences programs?

Hope u can help a bit more! Thanks in advance.

Can any current FIT students help too?

just a remark: as i am an int'l student, there is lesser difference in tuition fee for state and private colleges, in particular, college costs are relatively cheaper in FL than in other states.

My friend's daughter said there are many international students at FIT and the school is very strong in all the sciences. She is in environmental science. She says being so small she knows most of the students which is quite different from UCF which is very large.
