As a student looking to apply from North Carolina, how difficult is it for one to receive in-state tuition as an OOS student? And, what are are the basic qualifications, both academically and financially to be considered?
I think you need to go online to the UCF website, or call. We're in-state (funny, my oldest son was accepted to UNC, so I completely understand the OOS cost factor - they didn't offer him a waiver, and he ended up in Florida). I know the budget this year is TIGHT and getting TIGHTER, so I wouldn't count on it.
I only got 50% off the OOS rate for 12 credits a semester with a 4.3 WGPA/2300 SAT, and I'm 99% sure that's the best you can get if you aren't a National Merit Semifinalist or better as that seems to be their main focus as far as merit money is concerned.
Overall, how is the financial aid at UCF? I am a twin, but I am sure my parents make more than what would qualify me for financial aid. If enrolling at UCF, how much as an OOS student can I expect to have in debt at the time of graduation?
