Having trouble understanding application status

I JUST CHECK MY APPLICATION STATUS AND THIS IS WHAT I SEEN:

" Your application has undergone an initial review and is currently deferred for further evaluation with the Admissions Committee. A decision may be delayed as we assess the strength of this year's applicant pool. "

I DONT KNOW WHETHER THIS MEANS I DIDNT GET IN OR DO I HAVE TO WAIT LONGER TO GET A DECISION.

HERE ARE MY STATS:

WEIGHTED GPA: 4.406
ACT:21
SAT: 1030 (MATH AND READING)
COMM HOURS: 464

EC: MANY BUT SOME OF THE MOST IMPORTANT CLUBS INCLUDE SGA PRESIDENT SENIOR YEAR, SGA VICE PRESIDENT JUNIOR YEAR, CLASS PRESIDENT FRASHMAN AND SOPHOMORE YEAR, NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY PRESIDENT...AND THE LIST GOES ON

It shows you have been deferred, which, I believe means they've put you to the side for now to possibly consider you later based on the rest of their acceptances, etc....I think its more of an status that means "we're not sure if we can accept you , so you'll have to wait" kinda thing..... I know you probably aren't happy to hear that, but schools do this" when they are "on the fence" about certain applicants for whatever reason.
Best of Luck......I hope this was helpful.

You have been deferred, probably for your very low SAT/ACT scores. I would immediately sign up to take them again. If you raise them in Dec., you may get into UCF in January. Most students admitted to UCF have over a 1140 SAT (CR/M).

Out of curiosity, did you apply for fall term, or summer?

I applied for the summer term. I looked at some other threads posted by some people who were in the same situation as me and a couple of them said that their application status changed within 2 week. Im just going to wait it out and hope for the best. I also applied to howard, fsu, and uf. Hopefully I have better luck with those schools.

Well damn, that kills all my hopes. My GPA and test scores are lower than yours, and I was going to apply for summer...

If I were you, I'd just focus on taking the ACT again and again to try and raise it by at least 2 points. Someone on CC got in summer term with a 23 ACT and a lower GPA.

I guess it varies from application to application... you will never know Dx

Keep us updated!

It seemed they were accepting most students early on this year as compared to last. They get ALOT of applications. So maybe they are swamped and starting to slow down on acceptances. Hopefully if you retake the SAT/ACT and get higher scores it will help you, and at least show you are serious. Good Luck!

I'm in the same boat, not exactly the same message, but they pretty much said you need to get a higher act. I'm going to take it again in dec, HOPEFULLY they'll let me in.
