| Scholarship?
I viewed my decision online, and I was accepted (yeah!) but there was no mention of merit scholarships. Does that mean I got no scholarship?
Did anyone else get a decision online with a scholarship offer?
Thank you very much.

Merit scholarships come in the mail along with your official acceptance packet, I believe. We EAers are waiting for that mail as well, since they wait to do all merit scholarships until after looking at the RD pool.
Congrats on the acceptance, though!!

Thanks so much for the reassurance and the best of luck/congratulations to you!
It was mixed moment for me, first jubilance and then the sinking feeling that I couldn't afford it. You've given me hope. |

Ah, yeah, the money involved with Chicago in particular is crazy. I was fortunate enough to get an excellent FA package without any merit involved yet, and hopefully I'll be getting some outside scholarship money as well to help (I've already committed to Chicago, so I'm in it for the long haul).

i think if you got a scholarship, it has a link to the letter when you log in the second time.

UGH I saw Bizzy Hemphill's blog post about that, and of course, my account is barren of any such links or letters.
Ah well. NMSC finalist, hopefully to legit get that money from them. Definitely time to hit up outside scholarships, though.
If anyone reading this has gotten the merit moolah: CONGRATS!

No merit award link for national merit EA son. Could a letter still be coming?

no, per the site, if there's no link, there's no scholarship. Only 130 applicants get merit scholarships, so NM may not be sufficient.

"The University of Chicago offers a small number of its own merit scholarships to first-year applicants. These awards are announced by the Office of College Admissions after the regular notification admission cycle by April 1. We also support merit-based scholarships for National Merit Finalists."
Straight from the site...

The National Merit Scholarships are separate from Chicago's merit scholarships, and notification will come from National Merit, then be reflected on your Chicago bills--$1K for students without need-based aid and $2K for those who do, renewable annually.
You can check on notification dates for school-sponsored National Merit awards at their website, but my memory is that it was at least a few weeks after getting the Chicago merit award materials.
