I mean, you can easily use FedEx or UPS or USPS. You can ship things to the dorm before your son/daughter arrives; they'll hold it at the mail room. The only stipulation is that it can't arrive more than a week in advance.
Somewhere in the plethora of information packets, emails, and flashdrives(?) they send you, you can find more exact instructions. Once housing assignments come out, you'll know the address to send it to.
Note: I'm assuming the student is a first year just moving in... if not (which is very possible), then the answer is pretty different, obviously.
