Believe it or not, too many EC's can look bad. Chicago would much rather have a student who was highly dedicated over many years to a few EC's than someone who has a lot of apparently shallow interests. If you can demonostrate that all these contribute significantly to the narrative that will be your application then keep them, otherwise I'd be cautious of having an EC list that was ten miles long.

Obviously i'm going to shorten down the list. Yet I feel my EC's vary highly towards that of an economical and charitable direction.

if u do take Econ at Harvard over the summer (which I did, and I am attending Chicago next year) I just recommend that you dont take the 8 credit option... instead, take the two separate classes for 4 credits each... people have customarily hated the combined version.

On the issue at hand, though, Chicago will certainly be much more interested to see that you have devoted a considerable effort to a single activity. Pretty much all your ECs sound terrific (man I envy that Citi one) but if they fail to see that you have developed a passion for one of them, that may not be a good thing. Clearly, you have quite an interest in econ - so if u get into chicago and dont come ill strangle you... jking - but it would behoove you to pick one of those and REALLY put your heart into it. With so many ECs, theyll wonder just how much time youve dedicated to any of them.

Felipe,
How was your experience with Harvard's summer program? Was it favorable? Was it for high schoolers or for whoever wanted to take it? Just curious.

Do you feel that if I wrote beside how many hours I dedicated to each EC, it would be recieved better by admissions, (as I scrap some average EC's)?

I think you should write about your passion for one of your EC's as one of the shorter essays *or touch on it in your main essay, or add an extra... or talk about the recurring theme of economics. I know that I had a list a lot of people thought looked like yours, but it is clear you were dedicated to all of the activites (captain and such) and you need to show the admissions staff you did this stuff because you loved it.

This is what I did and it worked with 100% success rate.
Good luck!
