Watch out, it's an admissions counselor!

Hi everyone.

I'm an admissions counselor at the University of Chicago, and I'm here to answer any and all questions you might have. I'll be popping in and out of forums as time allows, but feel free to contact me or anyone else in the admissions office if you have questions.

As you know, the application launched today. If you've inquired to the University of Chicago before (i.e. you've gone on a tour, went to an info session, or returned our search mailing after you took the SAT), you should be receiving one next week. I hope that's how you spell receiving.

Or you can apply online at http://uncommonapplication.uchicago.edu

Or you can read the application blog at http://uncommonapplication07-08.blogspot.com/

Thanks for reading. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Was I assigned a personal admissions counselor because of my greatness?

Yes, you were.

Just kidding, everyone is assigned a regional admissions counselor.

Does every school have a regional admissions counselor. I talked to the administration at Stanford and they said they don't have admission counselors seperated by region. Is that true?

for Stanford, yes (it says so on their website), but most schools do have a regional officer

its probably a good thing... in that manner, things like "I went to a very competitive public HS" can actually be verified more precisely.

Just a reminder to everyone else - please don't pester Libby (or other College Reps) with personalized requests (e.g., a thread titled, "Libby, need important question answered ASAP!"). Please post questions in general terms - that will be more inviting to other CC members and if a College Rep has something relevant to add, he/she may add a comment. Do NOT request or expect "chances" opinions from our College Rep members. Thanks for your cooperation in making the Chicago forum a welcoming and helpful place to exchange ideas!
