I don't love the look, but then I haven't been 17 for quite a long time, so my aesthetic taste is sort of irrelevant. The organization seems logical, and it gets you to a lot of good information faster, more comprehensively, and with less effort compared to the old site. The front pages feel less distinctive than they used to, but the back-end information still feels like the real goods.

I participated in the focus group for the website redesign and am really impressed with the changes made from the old site- we had a lot of criticisms of the old college.uchicago.edu, as it was really quite user-unfriendly, and I'm really happy with how willing IT was to listen to our complaints and make them in to what is certainly a much better (not perfect, but much better) and relevant college website.

I like it, I guess. I like the color orange. Anyway, I'm one of those people that loves a professional looking website yet, even as a mere 17 year old, does not understand much of Web 2.0. There are always all these feeds everywhere which is fine, but half the time I have no idea what I'm looking at.

I like orange well enough, but the school color is maroon. It says so right on the website. Orange just seems wrong.

I like the website, but WHY ORANGE?! Layout seems great and I like the more "vibrant" feel of the site, but why not have Maroon as the primary color? Maroon is featured prominently on the uchicago homepage, so why not on the college's page too?

I love the new website, information easily accessible.=)Well, orange is good with maroon.Maroon gives me a more austere feeling, which in my opinion suits better the homepage and maybe grad school. And not trying to bring up any conflict...why do I feel the maroon on the university's homepage is the same as the color of Harvard's homepage?...err~alrighty.

I too would like more maroon here and on the admissions pages, but overall it appears to be more user friendly.

I agree that it appears more user friendly, but I find is less stylish than what it used to be. That is not just caused by a change in color. The new lay-out may be more in line in what is fashionable, but by doing so it loses a certain uniqueness. I'm wondering whether UoC's letter of acceptance will remain the same. A few years ago it was quite classy (compared to some others).

I agree the orange is a little strange, but the website is endlessly more navigable.
