Late Drop

I don't know if anyone has some info they could share with me. I put in a late drop petition to the dean today for arts and sciences. I had some weird stuff happen and I needed to drop a class. Does anyone know if late drop petitions are generally accepted (allowing you to drop the class with a W) or if they are regularly denied? This is a bummer, because the drop deadline was just over two weeks ago. Thanks for the help.
