Can somebody please chance me?

I'm an OOS student interested in UConn...I don't think that really matters because a counselor told me it plays no role in the decision. College board says state residency and geographical location is considered, so not sure.
Well, I just thought I would ask you guys what you think as the anxiety sets in (almost Feb. 1!)..
Stats:
SAT:1840
ACT:29
GPA:2.9-3.0ish (Personal issues affected my grades, discussed it)
Competitive HS
Good recs
Decent ECs (Again, personal issues..)
Good essay (IMO)

What do you guys think?

Since UConn is a state school, preference is given to in-staters, although they've been accepting more OOSers lately. That said, your stats look pretty good, though you'd have a better shot with those stats if you had been in-state. I think the decision could go either way.

Actually when we went to visit UConn we were told that the acceptance rate is the same for in state and out of state applicants. Many more in state students end up attending, due to the high cost of tuition for out of staters.

That's not true. I thought Uconn had a cap on how many out of state residents they accept(1,000?). I know they don't accept the same amount, that's for sure.

Hi dank08.

They said the "acceptance rate" is the same (around 50% I believe). Obviously far less OOS students apply than instate. And then even less than that actually attend.

That's what we were told, and I belive it may have been in some of the literature we received as well.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone. RatedPG: I think you are right about the acceptance rate, because on college board it says 30% students ATTENDING are OOS, a large ammount. Thats over how much dank said are accepted, because 30% attending is a little over 5,000 students.

The waits killing me
