what are my chances

i live in southern california, and i am almost done with my junior year in high school. and im really hoping that i will get into uconn next year when i apply. i visited it this year during my spring break and i really liked it. and if i go, i plan on majoring in psychology. and i would like an honest opinion if i will get in

i am a white female, i currently have a 3.21 gpa unweighted. my gpa for freshman year was around a 3.5 and this year its been a 3.6 but during my sophomore year it was just barely a 3.0 due to a difficult year which began with three of my friends dying in september and in the spring i found out that my best friend had cancer

i go to a small college prep private school so all of the courses are very difficult and i have taken the most difficult courses for all of freshman year and sophmore year. in junior year i chose to take easier science, english, and spanish classes. but i was taking the most advanced pre calculus class offered, ap us history, and ap studio art.

my sat scores are math: 580, verbal: 540 and writing: 590
i havent taken the act yet, im taking it on june 6
and i plan on retaking the sat in the fall to see if i get higher results

i am really involved. i will have played varsity volleyball and softball for 4 years, and varsity basketball for 3. i will have been captain of volleyball and basketball for both junior and senior year. and captain of softball senior year. i am in national charity league and i have been secretary, treasurer, and i am currently the president. i am involved with junior statesmen of america (jsa), health occupation students of america (hosa), and i have been part of student counsel and california scholarship federation (CSF) for some semesters of high school. and this summer i have an internship with a psychologist.

You might want to get your standardized test scores up. If you're taking the ACT, really try to do well on it. You need high test scores to make up for a lower than average gpa. Otherwise, apply as early as you can, and you definitely have a good shot.

Yeah, try to up the SAT (or get a good ACT). Make sure your counselor explains your extenuating circumstances from sophomore year. The fact that you are OOS might actually help you, as UConn's taking more OOS students than ever before (what with the economy and budget cuts and all), and while I'd say your chances are good, I would not say they are great.
